Marc-Antoine
Marc-Antoine de la Rüe du Can began life in the hospitality industry as a hotel and restaurant manager in Los Angeles. Returning to his native Europe he began working at a smaller hotel that wasn’t quite hitting its potential and after putting the work in he saw he had a knack for the turnaround aspect of the hospitality industry and began work as a consultant and thus was born Ododo. After a number of years consulting and coaching hotels around Europe he put his knowledge and experience into an E-Learning suite he called The Ododo Accelerator which sold well and brought him to the attention of Alexandre, whose company Marc-Antoine had been eyeing with interest since its inception. The rest is history.
Alexandre
Alexandre got his start in hospitality via the family business - his parent’s ski lodge in Switzerland. He went on to study hotel management in university but after a few internships knew that the tech side of hospitality was where his interests lay. After a series of tech focussed positions in hotels and function planning he co-founded Amenitiz in 2017 with the idea of empowering independent hoteliers through easy-to-use technology. As the company has grown they have sought new and more challenging ways to aid hospitality professionals and The Hotel Club is the latest and most ambitious. Together, Alexandre and Marc-Antoince would make it synonymous with growth and education throughout the hotel industry.
The team
Donnchadh hails from Ireland where he began his career in hospitality at the ripe age of 16. He continued through his university education til at twenty seven, having managed a busy restaurant for a number of years he pivoted into education and school management for a number of years until the pandemic forced education online. The Hotel Club offered him the opportunity to combine his two biggest wells of experience and take them into uncharted territory and he’s been spearheading the content here since 2022.
Alicia arrived at The Hotel Club with a bang, fresh from getting her masters in market research and consumer behaviour in the IE business school in Madrid. She has done marketing for hotels across two continents so far and is planning to eventually make a mark in all six, though not before she makes a major splash in the hospitality e-learning world.
Industry experts from around the world form a key part of what stands The Hotel Club apart from other hospitality education providers. Above all we are a community. On one side we have a community of hospitality professionals looking to learn about the latest hospitality trends and communicate with like minded individuals to share ideas and hopefully make a friend or two along the way. On the other side we have anyone who has proven their value in some aspect of the hospitality industry and is willing to share their knowledge in the form of actionable e-learning content.
